I have been an artist for years. Since being diagnosed with SLE in 2019, my obsessive need to capture moments has only grown stronger. Photography allows me to rewrite my own narrative - telling stories with art, my way. I lose myself in the process of creating a photograph. Shooting a roll of film gives me something to focus on other than chronic pain and the hopelessness it brings. Becoming a permanently sick person has granted me perspective I didn’t know I needed. I am grateful that I haven’t lost my ability to see the beauty in ordinary things.
