The people of Anbar Province are known as the “Lions of Anbar." Since leaving Iraq, reoccurring dreams of being stalked by a lion began. Dream interpretation workshops suggested this lion was there to protect and not frighten. Andrea the Greek Warrior Goddess of Fortitude is pictured with a Lion by her side. Fortitude symbolizes the strength and courage to face adversity. Lion of Anbar is at my side. An actual butterfly is used to symbolize hope and transformation. Art helps express things held inside, a snapshot of our soul which shares and connects us with those who view our Art.
