I was diagnosed with an inoperable brain stem tumor when I was 6 years old and given 6 months to live. Now I’m 48, still thanking God for the miracle surgery that gave me a second chance on life. While the road back has been filled with challenges and setbacks, art remains my way to get through. It’s how I communicate and deal with emotions and fears, with pain that Intensifies each year, with memories I don’t often speak about. When I feel despair is going to get me, I pick up a pen or brush, excited to see what will appear on the canvas that is waiting. Yes!…hope for another day!
