In April 2024, The Opioid Project collaborated with The East Boston Alliance for Support, Treatment, Intervention and Education (The Eastie Coalition) to run two workshops for East Boston peer educators. The project was funded by the Suffolk County Reinvestment Grant.

EASTIE is “a coalition of community agencies and residents that mobilizes youth, families, community members and leaders to prevent and reduce substance misuse among youth and adults in our community.” The goal of the project was to integrate art and storytelling into EASTIE’s Promoting Youth Leadership and Education Program (PYLEP).

Here, you can view the art created by youth participants and listen to an audio montage which captures their voices and their feelings on substance use, peer pressure, and stress management.
