Painting and other art mediums give me avenues or directions to release my fear and frustrations that are created by my limited vision caused by Retinitis Pigmentosa/Ushers Syndrome. Creating art and showing at galleries and shows gives me confidence, purpose and motivation to reach out to people and to be independent. It also helps me relate to other people with disabilities, but more importantly it gives me the chance to show them and people without disabilities that it is possible to be a part of the community as an artist, not as a disability. Art is my reason for living.
