I acknowledge that my visual impairment impacts my art in both my style and how I execute it, but unlike other areas of my life, it’s never felt like it’s trying to take something or pushing me somewhere else. Drawing and painting while visually impaired is how I learned a lot of my adaptability because I was unwilling to sacrifice the thing I love most to do. It’s the reason I have hope; I continue to do what I love in the face of what would seem to be an impossible challenge, and it turns out it isn’t so impossible.
