I am a graduate student at U Albany pursuing an MFA, which took almost 10 years since my bachelors to get up the courage to quit my job and apply. During that 10 years my body completely changed, causing severe pain and debilitating chronic issues. Art has been my only constant, no matter what I can always create, and now taking it seriously and pursuing my dream of being a working artist is actually happening which significantly helps offset the bad days, since there seem to be more and more. Painting, creating a sculpture, or drawing all help me cope.
