Calyces of Held in the nucleus of the trapezoid body

Acrylic & alcohol ink

This art is a form of breath control meditation. Jud uses his lungs, mouth and breath to blow ink on paper, creating images. Jud was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2012 and began breath painting shortly after. He finds the creative process alleviates many of his symptoms. This painting was inspired by the drawings of Santiago Ramón y Cajal. Born 1852 in Spain, he is considered by some to be the first neuroscientist. He studied neurons and their connections and made beautiful illustrations of what he saw through the microscope.
