Painting has always been a source of peace for me, but it became about disability when I began a dog-themed tarot project. This included 78 fully painted watercolor illustrations, to raise awareness for the vital roles service dogs play in disabled people's lives. This project, called The Barkana, helped me raise funds for my own service dog, who assists me with the medical impacts of a traumatic childhood. Since its start, these original paintings have been transformed into a tarot deck, which has reached hundreds of people worldwide and taught them about service dogs.
