Marsha, on recovery

Marsha: Artist statement

Lavender is a sacred color. Yellow is an angelic color. If you were going to see acid trails from an angel, they would be lavender and yellow overlayed by reds. The quote in the middle of my piece is from my nephew Daniel’s memorial. The pictures represent my family and friends, all who have been lost to opioids--my dad, my godson, two nephews, a niece, and two brothers. In all of my homes, I have always had pictures of family on the walls. For the past six years, all my stuff has been in storage. Now, I finally have walls to hang my pictures again. These pictures are all on my walls, and on the walls of heaven. The sage plant is there to capture some of my culture.
