Adam, remembering his brother Hunter
Adam: Artist Statement
I was drawn to using wire because it’s about connectivity in the brain. It’s also about connection with my family and my brother, Huntar, who died 15 years ago.
There are four groups of wire:
The bottom represents an EKG. It starts even and regular and then slowly becomes irregular and eventually flat lines, representing when Huntar died.
The next group has 3 lines representing my two brothers and me. They start out intertwined. Green for my oldest brother, Chris, then me with orange, and then blue for my youngest brother Huntar. As we got older, we separated.
The next wire line are my parents…mostly white, with a trace of colors from each of us. We are still intertwined. Even if we aren’t all here.
The top line is brown and white which is Huntar’s spirit… Wild and twisted and beautiful and endless. As is my love for him.
