At 6 years old, I was diagnosed with an inoperable brain stem tumor and given six months to live. A miracle, ground-breaking surgery gave me another chance. Now I’m in my early 40’s and the road back has been filled with set-backs and challenges, I’m thankful to God to be alive. My art is my hope, my way to communicate and deal with emotions and thoughts, with memories I can’t really speak about. When I feel pain and despair are going to get to me, it’s my art that gets me through and gives me hope for another day.
